Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf has been named Player Spotlight of the Week by football platform EaglesTracker. The outlet announced the recognition on X, featuring the Ferencváros attacker in a graphic that detailed his output for the season.
Yusuf is a 25-year-old striker who plays for Ferencváros. Born on 22 February 2001 in Jos, Nigeria, he joined the Hungarian champions from Serbian side Vojvodina on 31 August 2025. According to the Spotlight graphic, he has recorded 42 games, 15 goals and 11 assists across all competitions in the 2025/26 season and finished as top scorer in the Magyar Kupa.
He helped Ferencváros win the Hungarian Cup on 9 May 2026 by beating Zalaegerszegi TE 1-0 in the final at Puskás Aréna. He also scored in Europe, netting against Panathinaikos in the Europa League league phase in a 1-1 draw and scoring the club's goal in a 2-1 defeat to Ludogorets Razgrad in the knockout phase in February.
The recognition has renewed discussion about a first senior call-up for Nigeria. Yusuf, who has not yet featured for the Super Eagles, has seen calls grow for an invitation after his displays in Europe.
