Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has graduated from the PFA Business School after completing its Director of Football programme.
The 28-year-old, who currently plays for Coventry City, received his diploma during the school's Graduation 2026 ceremony held in London this week. The Professional Footballers' Association announced the achievement on Monday, September 15, confirming Awoniyi earned a Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship.
The programme is designed to equip current and former professional footballers with knowledge and skills in football management, leadership and sporting directorship. Developed in collaboration with programme co-directors Andoni Zubizarreta and Les Reed and delivered in partnership with the University of Portsmouth, the postgraduate diploma focuses on the strategic and technical demands of modern football clubs.

The qualification is awarded as a credible and accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship through the university partnership. The PFA Business School said Awoniyi completed the full requirements and congratulated him on achieving the diploma.
The Super Eagles forward has previously earned a diploma in Business Administration and Marketing Management and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration through online study.
