Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice as Bursaspor came from behind to defeat Batman Petrolspor 2-1 away in the Trendyol 1. Lig on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The match took place at Batman’s stadium. Matheus Doria gave the hosts the lead in the 29th minute. Iheanacho equalized from the penalty spot in the 60th minute and scored the winner in the 85th minute to secure the three points.
The result lifted Bursaspor to the top of the table with 19 points from eight matches (six wins and one draw). The side sits three points clear of Kayserispor, who have a game in hand.
The brace took Iheanacho’s tally to 11 goals and two assists in eight league appearances since he joined Bursaspor as a free agent from Celtic earlier in the summer. The 29-year-old Nigerian international has now scored in every league match this season, extending a personal-best run of eight consecutive scoring games.
That sequence equals the Bursaspor club record set by Brazilian striker Fernandao during the 2014/15 Süper Lig season.
Iheanacho started all eight of Bursaspor’s league fixtures and has been the team’s leading scorer. Following the late victory, the striker received a warm reception from teammates and supporters on the flight home, reflecting the impact of the comeback win. Bursaspor will next face Mardin 1969 after the international break.
