Former Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has been appointed National Assistant Director of Sports for the City Boy Movement, a youth-focused political support group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The announcement came on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from Bashir Ahmad, the movement’s National Director of Media Monitoring and Rapid Response and a member of its National Working Committee.
Omeruo, 32, joins fellow former international Shehu Abdullahi, who was named National Deputy Director of Sports in the same announcement. Both players bring extensive national team experience to the roles.
Ahmad shared the news on Twitter, stating that the City Boy Movement was delighted to welcome the two former Super Eagles players into its national leadership structure.
Omeruo represented Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2018 tournament in Russia. Abdullahi, 33, featured at the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The City Boy Movement describes itself as a youth-driven advocacy and mobilisation platform that supports the All Progressives Congress and promotes the policies of the Tinubu administration.
